Cauliflower Wings

Ingredients:

  • 2 Heads cauliflower washed and cut into small florets

  • 2 cups sunflower oil (Optional)

Breading (Dry):

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour

  • 1 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs

  • 1 TBSP Onion Powder

  • 1 TBSP Granulated Garlic

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 2 tsp Black pepper

Breading (Wet):

  • 1 cup Cornstarch

  • 1 1⁄2 cup All Purpose Flour

  • 3-5 cups Cold Water

Directions:

  • Combine all your dry ingredients together in a large bowl.

  • in a second bowl, combine all of your wet ingredients. Whisking in the cold water just a cup at a time. Keep adding water until the consistency of the mixture is like pancake batter. This is called Dredge.

  • Once you have both your breading mixtures in separate bowls, take some of your cauliflower florets and dip them in your dredge. Once they are coated in dredge, toss them in the dry mixture until completely covered. Repeat this process until all of your cauliflower florets are covered.

  • To cook these wings, you can bake them for 35 minutes on 400°, or use your 2 cups of sunflower oil to deep fry them. If you deep fry them, heat your oil in a medium heat in a deep pot. It needs to reach 350° before putting the cauliflower in. Once you drop the cauliflower in, let it fry until crispy golden brown.

  • After your crispy wings are cooked through, toss them in Buffalo sauce: made by combining one part melted Earth Balance Buttery Spread & one part Frank’s Red Hot sauce. Dip them in ranch dressing and enjoy!
